hyperlink to .swf file

Sep 08, 2011

Good afternoon everyone.

I have a menu in my Presenter presentation where if you choose to, you can click on a link to run a captivate demonstration. I can live with it being in a new window or on the slide.. I have to try to embed the .swf file to run it on an LMS but am hitting a snag.  How do you insert a flash movie and only have it play if the user clicks on it (or a box hyperlink on top of it) I don't want it to play automatically or after a certain time.  I only want it to play IF the user decides to view it.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Denise

Hi Denise,

I'm sure there are better answers, but I would simply place the  movie on it's own slide. Then the "click" you are looking for can be a hyperlink on the original slide that goes to the movie slide.

Just be sure to put another hyperlink on the movie slide so they can return to where they were and also hide the movie slide in the flow/navigation so they only see it if they click the link.

Hope this helps,

Bob
