Hyperlinks not working when reviewing published LMS module

Jan 07, 2015

I have hyperlinks on some artwork that link to hidden slides in the presentation. In PowerPoint, they work fine. Once published, I see the pointer/finger when I mouse over the links, but when I click to proceed to the hidden slide, it does nothing.

I am aware that for LMS modules, the links to other files (i.e. a pdf) will work, even though they don't in the preview mode. Can you tell me if this applies to my hyperlinked/hidden slides too?

I feel that theoretically, it will work just fine, but because I am previewing on my local computer and not reviewing on the LMS server, that it could be contributing to the problem.

Thank you for your reply, Leslie.

I read the tutorial and will use the "hide title" tip in the menu. However, what if the sequence of the linked slides is not sequential? Meaning, the user can click one of three icons and go to one of three slides. When they click one of the links and are now at one of the "hidden" slides, how do the buttons work if they chose to view the "hidden" slides in a different sequence than another user? Since they can be arbitrary, it should be programmed with the flexibility to go in any "direction" they want until they click the "continue" button to proceed through the rest of the course.

Can you help me though this?

Hi Patty!

You can set up the branching from the slide properties.

For instance:

Slide 2 has three icons that branch to hidden Slides 3, 4, and 5

Slide 3, 4, and 5 can each have a Prev button that branches back to 2

The Next button on Slide 2 can proceed to Slide 6

Is that what you are asking?

I also wanted to mention that responding to the forums via e-mail attaches your signature and you can pop in and edit that if needed.
