Installation issues: Default Office templates

Feb 06, 2012

I am trying to troubleshoot an failure issue that I am experiencing when trying to publish to Word from within Quizmaker and Engage. Ultimately, I believe the issue is because of the default Office 2010 installation here, which points all default templates to a network drive, as opposed to a hard drive.

Since I do not have much IT support, I am trying to do this on my own.

Can anyone confirm that Office, or at least Word, needs to be set up with templates stored on the hard drive?

Also, is there a relatively easy way to switch this post installation?

Thanks --

Hi Wendy,
It is always recommended to save and publish your projects to your local hard drive to
avoid issues during the publishing. I think that one of the causes to your issue is that you
are working on a network drive. When you save and publish your work, the changes you
make has to pass through your network which increases latency that could cause erratic
issues on your end.
Have you tried publishing your project directly to your local drive and check if it works?
You can check these articles on Quizmaker and Engage to get some information on how you can avoid issues in publishing your projects.
Hoping it will help.

Hey Wendy!

Are you using Studio 360? If so, there was an issue with Publishing to Word that was recently fixed.

Just install the latest software update. Here's how.

If Articulate 360 doesn't notify you right away about the new update, open your Articulate 360 desktop app, click the drop-down arrow next to your profile picture in the upper right corner, then choose "Check for Updates."

Let me know if that does the trick!
