A client is distributing a published web version (player folder, data folder and player.html) and would like to restrict access to the files... Does anyone know of a way to lock or hide them while continuing to allow access to the actual presentation?
There really isn't a way to restrict those files since they get cached to your machine. However, trying to recompile the files in your temp folder would be really hard to do and probably not something to worry about. If they are concerned about people gaining access to the content, they should put it behind a pay wall or at least within a secure site that requires a log on to access the files.
