Need guidance on "ART 13 Presenter" issues: logo, notes and video

Mar 15, 2014

1.  The new version of "Articulate 13 Presenter" makes presentations look unpolished and unprofessional.  The fact "the logo" comes through blurry no matter if it is a png, jpeg, or swf file.  200x220 is fine but the fact the logo now does not fit into the alloted logo box and has a border is irritating.  "Artiuclate 9" logo box was sharp in clarity and the 200x220 logo fit perfectly.

2.  Also, the notes section is irratic. "Notes" come through blurry and in various sizes.

The "Update 2" helps with the sizes but it still looks dirty and unprofessional.  I am frustrated that my previous presentations in "Artiuclate 9" looked fabulous and my conversion to 13 looks second grade.

**If there are any suggestions on how to improve the logo to fit in the entire logo box or the notes to become clearer (I have already tried the master notes standardization in ppt), I will really appreciate it.

***Sorry to vent...just frustrated about how poor the published quality is and how much work I have had to do to convert my online training when this new version upgrade was suppose to be amazing.  I look forward to your feedback.

We've experienced the same thing, Stacie.

Changing scaling has not really helped--it looks the same but locked at a single size. The issue seems to be something else like aliasing or something similar. I agree that Update 2 helped with the inconsistency in sizes, but the text and image quality are still suffering.

Scaling/non scaling worked perfectly in 09 with no blurring issues. It's really, really frustrating to us that 13 does this.

It's true of any image, really. We've been converting and republishing many, many presentations in 13, then reviewing side-by-side with the output from 09, and every single image and slide is more clear and crisp in the 09 output.

I have to chime in on this one... I am experiencing the same problem and I find the workaround to be unacceptable.  It just makes the notes small and fuzzy rather than just fuzzy.

I have determined that Arial 11 point is the "best looking ugly" of the fonts in the notes screen but it isn't great.  Blutty notes that look like a dot-matrix printer that is low on ink really isn't the look I want my professional continuing ed course to have.

This must be fixed.    -Ro

Hi Robin and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Hi Joe!

I would advise that if you have specific instances where you are following all of our recommended guidelines and still have an issue, that you send it to our support team to have a look at. This would be the only way we could find items that may possibly need to be brought to the attention of our QA Team.

You are welcome to package your course and submit it here.

Hi there, Leslie.

There are no "specific instances". The issue with blurry, indistinct text in the notes panel exists with every single presentation we've published with Update 2. There were definitely issues with the notes before update 2, but this wasn't one of them.

It appears from other forum posts that it isn't just us. This one is the most recent: http://community.articulate.com/forums/t/46269.aspx

Just for reference, this is what we're experiencing. Exactly the same presentation.... Far left is Studio 09, middle is Studio 13 update 1, far right is Studio 13 update 2. Huge dropoff in clarity.
