NIGHTMARE trying to get Presenter to publish correctly.

I've dummed down my PowerPoint file enough as it is and now Presenter published with these awesome problems:
1. Little blue blocks appear in the upper right hand corner of most of my 11 slides
2. Artwork on almost half of the published presentation is gone
3. Artwork that is part of animations don't all appear, even though I set them all to On-Click and synced them properly.
When I preview one slide at a time everything looks ok. When I publish the whole thing, that's when everything blows up.
PLEASE help me not hate this program. Thank fully this is a small course compared to the larger courses I've had to do using Articulate (at another company).
Thanks in advance.
(Apologies if anything sounds snarky. I'm beyond frustrated)

Hi John & welcome to Heroes,
I apologize for the issues that you're having. I would suggest you submit a case by following the steps below.
Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:
Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help
Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:
Articulate Support - Upload Your Files for Review
Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09 which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so we can follow up with you in the forums.
Thanks. The Presenter Package is uploading as I type.
Two new issues have popped up since my initial post:
1. I got an error about some Articulate Presenter ribbon problem
2. I can no longer publish the course.
I disabled the ribbon then re-enabled it. That's actually the second time that's happened today.
Apologies for not mentioning this before:
I'm on a Mac using a Windows 7 virtual machine to build this presentation. Could that cause all these problems?
Hi John,
That's definitely a possibility. Are you using Parallels? If so, see the link below:
http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=1559
Brian,
I'm using VirtualBox, not Parallels.
So, I've uninstalled and re-installed Articulate Presenter and I still can't publish anything. I freeze at Slide 2.
Perhaps this is just a problem with Virtual Box running a virtual Windows 7 machine ...
Hi John,
Mind running a trace log for us? Please follow the steps below to generate for us a trace log of what's happening:
1) Download, extract, and double-click the below trace tool (keep the window open):
http://www.articulate.com/support/downloads/APTrace.zip
2) Launch PowerPoint. PowerPoint should be launched only after the trace window is open.
3) Follow the steps you normally take to reproduce your issue.
4) When you are finished reproducing your issue, in the Trace window copy the text and paste it into Notepad.
5) Attach the log file to your reply to us for review.
