I just completed my first Articulate presentation and am trying to send to someone else to view. The steps "seem" simple enough, yet something's not working. After publishing, I get the options to save, email... When I email the presentation however, try to extract the files, open the html file, nothing happens. What am I missing?
A really important thing to always keep in mind, is that you need to test your course in the environment for which it was published. So for example, if you published for LMS, your colleague would need to upload the course to the LMS to ensure its proper playback.
This is due to Flash Player and web browser security restrictions.
Can you tell me how you published your presentation?
Thanks so much for your reply! I'm really hoping to send this completed presentation asap!
I first published it to "Web"... then later tried by LMS.(I don't know what that is!!! ) I did try emailing it to myself, but no luck there either! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm kind of alone in this at my work.
Do you know where your finished project will eventually reside? Do you plan on hosting it online? Do you plan to deliver it via email? Or LMS (Learning Management System)?
This article does a really nice job of explaining everything you need to know about publishing and sharing your content.
Let me know if you have any questions or run into any trouble.
Peter... thanks again. The article is very helpful... I do think I'll eventually be publishing courses to SharePoint.... but not until they've been approved, finalized, etc. I would like to consider Articulate Online, as I've seen the advantages of tracking users for quizzes, etc.
From the tutorial I've watched, it seems that I am in control of who actually sees my tutorial if I publish on Articulate Online. That is, only by sending the URL and inviting someone, can they access it.
I need to be sure that my tutorial is not just out there for anyone to access, due to confidential information within my presentations.
Can you confirm that my understanding of Articulate Online is correct?
When you publish to Articulate Online, not only is it really easy to get your content up and hosted with just a few clicks, you'll also be able to control who sees your content in a variety of ways. Is the tutorial in this article the one you mentioned?
Thanks for your responses to my questions. I managed to save to "CD" and store my presentation. Turns out it was too large to email, and we haven't decided if Articulate Online is the way we should go at this point.
But thanks! I really appreciate this feature of "help!" when I need it!
