Playback is disabled issue with the video’s codec?

May 27, 2011

I have downloaded the K-Lite Codec Pack.

I have downloaded G-Spot-this tells me I have all the required codecs.

Still, I can not get the video to playback- receiving the now very frustrating message "Playback is disabled because there’s an issue with the video’s codec" one too many times.

Also, have received dialogue box "The video could not be loaded. Please ensure you have the latest versions of Windows Media Player and Apple quick time player installed along with any required codec."  Media player and quick time are up to date.

All I want to do is convert  mpeg files via the video encoder!

I have re-started the computer. I have un-installed and re-installed articulate (all modules). I have updated everything I can.

What am I doing wrong?

Please help. My deadline looms large.

I have never used the video encoder, so I fired it up to see what if anything would happen. I loaded a standard Quicktime .MOV file. I can play this file in Quicktime player just fine, open in Soundbooth to edit etc. But I am seeing the same error you are with the playback" Playback is disabled because there’s an issue with the video’s codec.

I have every codec i have ever needed to play any type of video file (I also have both Adobe Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas).

Justin, any help in this?
