Powerpoint '10 not publishing .flv after programs closes

May 29, 2011

Hello,

I have a encountered a problem when using Powerpoint '10 in attempting to publish .flv videos. I have taken the necessary measures to imbed the flash video and am able to successfully preview and publish my project.

However, if I close the file and reopen, I am no longer able to successfully publish my slide with the .flv. In the video's place is the "video placeholder" card.

I have encountered several other people who have described the same circumstances with the same results, as can be seen on the previous articulate boards (http://www.articulate.com/forums/articulate-presenter/19759-flv-video-not-present.html) as an example. Assuming it is a known issue,  has a solution been reached?

thank you for any help you can give me,

amber

Hi Amber and welcome to Heroes! Here's what I would do to try to correct this issue:

1. Create two folders, C:\Articulate and C:\Articulate Publish.

2. Open the presentation and follow the steps to do a Send to Articulate Presenter Package.

3. Quit PowerPoint.

4. Copy the zip file you created in step 2 to C:\Articulate.

5. Right click the zip file and select Extract.

6. You should now have a folder in C:\Articulate which contains your PowerPoint presentation.

7. Open that PowerPoint file.

8. Reinsert your movies and see if you still have a problem.

If you still have an issue, create a new presentation in the same folder and see if you can duplicate with that file. If you can, see if one of these articles resolve your issue:
