Presentation Not showing Resource Names in Google

Apr 19, 2017

I have resources added however, the title of the resource is not visible in Google Chrome, but is visible in IE. The icons are visible, but not the file description. I have altered the text color to ensure I'm not seeing white on white, but it shows fine in IE.

I'm also having problems with bullets within random slides not visible in Chrome but ok in IE as well. This only happens if the slide has animation to it but not on all.

Not sure if these are related or not. I always clear my browsing history before viewing.

Hey, C J. Thanks for letting us know what's going on and for sharing the screenshot. I wouldn't expect Chrome to give you issues since it's supported for both Flash and HTML5. Can you tell me more about how you tested the file?

  • What publishing format did you use--Web or LMS?
  • Did you select ZIP from the Publish Successful window?
  • Where did you host the published zipped file to test it?
c j

publishing format is LMS

publish to my local hard drive, then open the presentation file with Chrome

FYI - I sorted out the missing bullets by having to replace all ' and - in the text of the bullets to the similar characters from the character map.  This is a new bug I think with the software because these are files that have worked fine before, we just went in and made some changes (nothing on the slides that now have issues) and republished.

I thought it might have been the same issue with the resource names, however, I tried the same thing, and actually removed all ' and - from the names with no resolution.

Thanks for those details. It sounds like you are testing the published content locally, and security restrictions can cause various features in your content to fail. Instead, could you try testing it in SCORM Cloud? I'd be happy to help you with that testing, if you'd like. You can attach the Articulate Package here by using the ADD ATTACHMENT button, or you can send it directly to our Support Engineers if you’d prefer to send it privately.

Hi C J,

Thanks for those details! I created a similar file, published it for LMS, and uploaded it to SCORM Cloud to test it. I was able to see the resource title from there, so I'd be interested to see if your file also works in SCORM Cloud.

It sounds like you found another color setting that'll work for you, so be sure to reach out if you have any other questions!
