Presenter '13 Help - PLEASE!! :)

Dec 04, 2013

I just finished a PPtx file, 10 slides, and am now ready to insert a QuizMaker slide at the end. When I pull down the Articulate options from the ribbon, they all appear normal. However, when I click to insert a QuizMaker quiz, nothing happens. When I click to add narration, nothing happens. When I click to preview slides, nothing happens.

I've opened other PPTx files with Articulate assets, and they are not working properly either.

QuizMaker works regularly, when I open it directly from my desktop, separately. But NOT, when I attempt to access it from PowerPoint. Nor do any of the OTHER Articulate features, from PowerPoint.

Help... PLEASE??

Hi Ed,

Sorry to hear about the trouble!

First, can you tell me if you're using the 32-bit installation or the 64-bit installation of PowerPoint? If you're working with the 64-bit installation, that may be the problem.

Currently, Articulate Studio '13 supports 32-bit versions of Microsoft Office, but not 64-bit versions. See this article for details:

If you are using the 32-bit installation of PowerPoint and Office, please make sure you're working with local project files.
  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

It may also be a good idea to make sure you have the Articulate addons correctly enabled in PowerPoint:
Let me know if you still have trouble using the buttons after trying those steps.
Thanks!
