RE: Articulate Video Encoder
Mar 08, 2011
My challenge is that I can not import files such as mpeg into the encoder. I get an error message: the selected video could not be loaded. please ensure you have the latest versions of Windows Media Player. I have Windows Media Player 12 on my laptop (Windows 7).
I was able to use the encoder when I worked on my PC (which is still running on XP and has Windows Media Player 11 installed.) The PC works fine with the Encoder and I can import the mpeg files on it adn publish to swf files.
I spoke to my IT guy and he says to try to load Windows Media Player 11 back on the laptop (however, can't do this as 12 is installed and I get a message stating that it is the most current).
I have tried to download the fix recommended in Articulate (K-link and also Gspot ) and this doesn't help-- I still get the error message.
If there is another FIX could you please let me know. Many thanks.

Hi Kirsten,
Being that I've never seen this issue, I'd recommend submitting a support case to us so that we can take a closer look:

Was a solution ever discovered for this issue? I am having the same problem.
Hi Wendy. I would submit a case if you are having this issue.
Thanks Justin, I was able to resolve my issue, by converting the MP4 to a WMV and then loading it to Video Encoder. Works fine.
Nice! Studio '09 does support MP4 so if you are using that file with our software you should be able to use the original MP4 or the new FLV.
Glad it worked Wendy. I ended up having to re-install Microsoft Win 7 and also Articulate in order to resolve the problem. That seemed to do the trick.
