Runtime error
Mar 28, 2014
I have just updated to Studio 13 from 09. When I first run Presenter and clicked 'launch powerpoint' I got an error saying my version of ppt is incompatible (im running Office 2013 32bit on a 64bit PC). So I opened ppt and the Articulate ribbon only responds with 'Custom UI Runtime Error in Articulate Presenter Ribbon......"
I then went to File > Options > Addins >Manage: Disabled Items and enabled 'Addin: articulate (articulate.ppa), but on restarting ppt I now I get the following; Any ideas anyone?

Hi Anton! You may need to start with the repair that is listed in this documentation, and if that doesn't help, proceed with the further instruction.
I have tried all of those options, but I still get no joy, the articulate.ppa addin is being disabled by ppt on start up. If I start Presenter, then click 'Open PowerPoint' I get
Hi Anton!
Did you fully uninstall Studio '09 prior to installing '13?
I am pretty sure I did, using the control panel add/remove programs.
Hi Anton,
Can you post the exactly version of PowerPoint you're using by using this method?

If you can, post a screenshot similar to what that website shows in step 5.
Thanks Anton. We're looking into the issue. I'll let you know when I have more information.
Hi Brian,
Do you have an update for this issue as my trial period is almost over now.
Kind regard, Anton.
Hi Anton,
I'm not sure if Brian has any additional information on the issue at this time.
However, I wanted to suggest reaching out to our Success Team. If you explain the issue to them, I'm sure they'll work with you to provide a one-time trial extension. You can email them directly at Success@articulate.com, or give them a call (from 8a to 8p EST) at 800-861-4880. You can also chat with someone live (during the hours above) here.
I hope this information helps!
Thanks Christine, but there is not much point extending the trial if the software is not working. I have this morning gone through a full un-install and re-install as per the instructions at http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=ap13&id=aqf3vvizx7kv, but to no avail.
Regards Anton.
Hi Anton,
You're absolutely correct. However, you can keep the extension details they send you. You can activate the extension after the issue has been resolved. I know it's not flaw-free, but I'm hoping that helps :)
Hopefully we'll have some more news on the issue soon.
Thank you and have a great day!
As I seem to be no further on with this issue, and projects backing up, I will not be upgrading our 4 Studio 09 Pro licenses and have decided to look at alternative authoring packages. Thank you for your assistance.
Hi Anton,
I am sorry to hear that, and again, I do apologize for the trouble.
If you decide you'd like to revisit this at some point, please let us know.
Best regards,
Christine
Disappointed that there seem to be no resolution to my issue and no further feedback on progress. We have been using Studio for 5 years now, and my team were looking forward to upgrading to the latest iteration, but if I cant get it to work on my machine, there seems little point in investing in the upgrade. I wonder if the response would have been different if I has already purchased the upgrade?
Regards, Anton.
Hi Anton,
I sent you a private message. Please reply to it when you have a chance.
