SCORM error message

Jun 19, 2012

Hi All

I am getting this error message for *some* of my zipped files that I am trying to upload to the LMS (Blackboard CE6) as SCORM files. It is only for some files, others are no problem. I am selecting SCORM 1.2, and zipping in Articulate. The problem files run normally if I publish them as CD rather than LMS versions. Any ideas?

  • The SCORM package could not be imported because it does not comply with one or more specifications within the package. The following error was produced: **Parsing Error** Line: 104 Message: cvc-datatype-valid.1.2.1: 'data/swf/fm_IPPC intro.flv' is not a valid value for 'anyURI'. Please inform the SCORM vendor and try again once the problem has been resolved.

    Welcome to Heroes, Kirsty!

I'm not familiar with that type of message - have you had a chance to discuss it with your LMS team? You might want to take a look at this article on troubleshooting Articulate/LMS issues to see if something catches your eye. It might also be a good idea to run your course through SCORM Cloud (which is detailed in the article) to determine if there's an issue with the actual course running in an LMS, or if it's the LMS itself causing problems.

Hope that's helpful, and welcome again!

    Hi Peter

Thanks for the quick response. I am beginning to suspect that a video attached to a slide is corrupted. I have removed the videos and can now upload to the LMS without the error message. BUT I now have a problem when I run the package: it gets to a certain slide and then articulate 'hangs'. The cursor changes to one with a padlock, and the forward button does not work.  I have run the problem zip files through the Test Suite and they all test normal, with the exception of the hang.

    Arrrgghh
