Sync animation doesn't start on Windows 8

Feb 17, 2013

All my articulate presenter projects work fine on Windows 7, but not on Windows 8. When I go to Sync animations and click on "Start Sync" the sync process seems to go on and then stop almost immedialety, in a split second. I have just time to read : "Animations remaining: 2" and then it stops.

Please, tell me what I need to do (I have already tried this).

Thanks.

Hi Vassili,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Can you give us a little more information about the system and presentation? What version of PowerPoint are you using? Also, are you using the 32-bit or 64-bit installation of Office? Microsoft released a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of Office 2010. Microsoft recommends installing the 32-bit version, and Articulate Presenter '09 will only work with the 32-bit version. Presenter '09 also will not work with the Click To Run version of PowerPoint 2010. For more information, please review this article.

You may find that you are unable to Sync Animations if the following are true:

  • You are using PowerPoint 2003.
  • You have inserted audio in PowerPoint via Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from File or recorded narration via Slide Show > Record Narration.
  • You have also imported audio to the same slide via Articulate > Import Audio or recorded narration via Articulate > Record Narration.
Please review this article for more information.

Hi Vassili,

Thanks for getting back to me! Do you know if Adobe Presenter was installed on the Windows 8 machine?

You may find that Sync Animations doesn't work as expected if all the following criteria are true:

*  Your user account on the local computer is restricted.

*  Articulate Presenter and Adobe Presenter are both installed.

*  Adobe Presenter was installed first.

If you've checked the information in the article above, and you're still unable to use the sync tool, please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article
