Unable to play courses in IE
Jan 30, 2013
Hi,
It appears that some of our customers are experiencing an issue with IE not playing the content. I'm sorry, but we don't yet know if the users are using IE 8 or 9. The LMS we use (WBT) says it's an IE issue and not their problem. They changed from Java to Javascript, thinking this would solve the problem, but it hasn't. WBT states that their LMS is fully compatible with IE 8 and 9.
Attached is a screenshot of the error that some of our users are receiving.
I would really appreciate any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting this issue.
Many thanks!

Hi Diana,
Thanks for the screenshot! One way to determine if this is something on the LMS side, or on the browser's side, is to test the content, If you haven't already. Would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. You may want to test this in Internet Explorer, then again in another browser. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably something that the LMS needs to further investigate.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
Christine
Hi Christine,
Thanks so much for the suggestion - I will try testing in SCORM Cloud.

HI Christine,
I uploaded my course to SCORM Cloud and tested using Firefox and IE 8 and 9 - course launched perfectly. So can I assume then that this is an issue with the LMS?
Again, many thanks for your help.
Diana
Hi Diana,
Correct, if they're playing correctly there, it's definitely something the LMS needs to check out. You can even provide the SCORM Cloud information with them, just to let them know you've already tested it on your end. I'm quite sure they're aware of the testing platform. If nothing else, maybe it will assist them in narrowing down the issue.
Good luck, Diana. Let me know how everything turns out with the LMS!
Christine
Thanks Christine - you are fabulous!
