UNREGISTERED VERSION of SWF SCOUT 1.42.4

Jan 13, 2012

Hello,

I am really at a loss.  I have been using Articulate for a few years, not extensively as my role is not content development, but I have created a few courses.

Anyway, I am now receiving a message in published output in the "Notes" field which says,

"UNREGISTERED VERSION of SWF SCOUT 1.42.4 Find out more at WWW.BYTESCOUT.COM"

I searched the bytescout website and can't find anything relating this error message.  I have googled and the only sites I can find are based in China and when I try to click on those links, it doesn't go anywhere.  I have searched the Articulate knowledgebase and I can't find anyone else having this problem.

I have reinstalled Flash and Shockwave Players and this has no effect.

The only thing that I can think which is changed on my computer is that I won a free version of the Adobe ELearning Suite, which I installed because I do use Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

Has anyone else ever received this error or knows how to fix it?

Thank you in advance.

Kathleen

Thank you, Peter, for your response.

Yes, there are notes on every slide and the happens for every slide. The also checked the output files for each note; that is, opening each swf Note output individually and they give me that same message. I I have not to my knowledge ever installed SWF Scout. I checked to see if I have it specifically installed in Program's, and I couldn't find it.

I have also tried repairing my Articulate installation and I still get the same result.

Another incident came up last night when I was trying to do a quick job for a client. I created an Engage file and then tried to publish it as a slide into a PowerPoint presentation and received an error, Unable to publish to Presenter, which is also a new error.

Thank you again for any ideas you may have.

Kathleen

Dear Peter,

Thank you again for your support.

Before doing what you suggested, I thought I would retrace my activities. I received a new laptop which had some software pre-installed based on the image of my last machine.  One of these software was the Sothink Video Encoder, something I had installed years ago and hadn't used in years.  I uninstalled this and it appears all of my problems have disappeared with it.

Thanks again,

Kathleen
