Quizmaker '13 and LMS - How to handle 2 retries for the Quiz
Mar 29, 2016
I have a quiz built in Quizmaker '13 that I've published for my LMS (SuccessFactors Learning). I set the failure results slide option to "2" retries and published as Passed/Failed. Ideally, we'd like for the learner to get a 2nd attempt if they fail the first attempt. The first failure should not be communicated to the LMS. Only the 2nd attempt (whether passed or failed) should be communicated to the LMS and recorded in Learning History. Is this possible? So far through testing, we are seeing that the first failed attempt is also communicating to the LMS learner history instead of waiting until the 2nd attempt to communicate.

Hi, Mike -- Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community! In addition to this information on How to Limit the Number of Attempts in Quizmaker, by chance?
Thanks Christie! Yes, I followed those steps. I have the number of attempts set to 2 on the failure results slide. But when we test it in the LMS, the first failed attempt is reporting to the LMS and the LMS communication ends.
Thanks for your reply, Mike! And may I ask if you are finding the same behavior when you test your published output in the SCORM Cloud, as that is the recommended testing environment for LMS courses? Please also see this article for additional details: How to Troubleshoot Your LMS with SCORM Cloud.

Yes, I saw that article too and performed the SCORM Cloud test. From what I'm seeing, the content also communicated a failed completion and end the session instead of allowing a 2nd attempt within the same session before ending communication. I will use the form to upload the content for review. Thanks!
Thanks, Mike, and I see that your case #00768158 has been received in our ticketing system. I will check it out and will reply via email from within your case as soon as possible. Your patience is appreciated!
