Replay: Create a video with audio and Published version is just the audio

Nov 14, 2015

Hi there,

I have created a screen recording with replay and added in my own audio, a couple of images and lover thirds. The screen recording in 'Mix A' and the audio in 'Mix B'.

All of this looked fine in Replay and played back perfectly.

When I publish though, all that is published is the audio file. None of the video, or images.

Any thoughts on what I have done wrong and how to fix it? I did my screen recording in Google Chrome, using the same process for other video clips.

I have downloaded the Articulate Replay Update 2 (Build 1412.1015) and tried to publish again.

I get the same outcome each time. Publish was successful but when played back there is only the audio.

Hope someone can help!

Many thanks, Karyn

Hi Karyn,

Have you done a recording at full screen? That is something our team is aware of that recording at full screen and then publishing it causes it to be black with only the audio. Our team is investigating this issue further and in the meantime you can use the workaround of recording at something other than full screen.

Thanks Karyn for that update and sorry to hear you've run into the full screen issue as well. As I mentioned it's something our team is aware of so I'll include this thread in the report filed with our team so that I can share any updates with you here once they're available. I don't have a timeframe to share in regards to this issue, so please continue to utilize the workaround you mentioned.

Hi all,

I wanted to share an update here that Replay Update 3 has been released and includes a fix for the issue with recording at full screen and having the published output only include audio. You can view the release notes and download the update here. For any previous courses impacted you'll need to publish these using the latest update to have the changes take effect.
