Articulate and Microsoft Stream
Apr 01, 2020
We have created several Articulate Storyline 360 modules for use with an LMS as CBT's. Those work fine. Since there are issues with CBT's and smartphones via our LMS, we wanted to find a solution to convert those modules into something usable that we could then put into Microsoft Stream. A link will be put into the LMS, for tracking purposes mainly, which will then take the user to Microsoft Stream. Stream cannot use Articulate files. Converting the Articulate file to a an MP4 works well if there is no interactivity within our modules. Unfortunately there is. Any suggestions would certainly be welcomed.

I have a similar request, I have added stream videos in my storyline file, but the videos work, only I also added poll questions (Microsoft Forms) in these videos and this gives an error. Does someone know if this is a functionality that we can use and how? or is this somehow not allowed in storyline?
Hello Akke,
Thanks for sharing your similar request.
Microsoft Streams are not supported for external sharing outside of your organization and will only stream to authorized users.
Are you able to contact the author to see if they will share the .MP4 with you?
Prior to acquiring Storyline 360 I need to understand how Storyline works with MS Streams. Will a Storyline 360 file that is uploaded to a SuccessFactors LMS, play a linked video, referenced in the Storyline file, that is stored on an MS Streams server?
Hi Barbara, and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! ✨
It may depend on your MS Streams settings if the Storyline 360 file works in the MS Streams environment. I do not have access to an MS Streams account, so I could not give you a definite answer.
A good option would be to upload your course to SCORM Cloud to test if the embedded video will work there, as it's an industry-standard testing ending for LMS and completely free to use. Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to do that.
You can also open a support case with us so we can test a sample course on our end to see how it behaves.
