Audio not working or working funny

Mar 20, 2024

Hello,

We're having some issues with our Storyline files.

When we upload our SCORMs to a Moodle platform, most users find that the sound is not working correctly.

The tricky part is that it's not always the same mistake and it doesn't happen for everybody. Sometimes the sound track is the wrong one, sometimes the voice has an echo, sometimes there is a lag, and in other cases, there is not sound at all. Surprisingly, it works perfectly for me so I can't find the error.

We need to know if there is something wrong in the files, or if there is any known issue with the Moodle platform.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Michel!

Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!

I see that you've opened a support case and shared your SCORM package privately. However, to troubleshoot Storyline 360 issues, we would need the actual .story file that was used for the publishing. Do you mind sharing that as well?

In the meantime, it would be helpful to test how the SCORM file performs in an LMS test environment like SCORM Cloud. If the audio works as expected when testing in SCORM Cloud, then the issue is likely LMS-based. In that case, I would suggest reaching out to your LMS administrator to investigate the issue further.

If the same audio issues can be observed in SCORM Cloud, please let us know through your support case. We'd be happy to continue working with you!

Hi,

I have updated the support case with the original .story file and I've uploaded the SCORM in the SCORM cloud (the link is also in the support case).

The issue can be replicated on SCORM Cloud. The slide number 6 of the total of 15 slides only has a woman narrator. About 20 seconds into the timeline you can heard a male voice. It's in Spanish, but the male voice is talking about the help menu. It's the wrong track.

What we can't reproduce is the echoes, the lags, the slides that remain silent or the overlapping tracks.

Thanks in advance.
