Hi everybody,

Is there any way to insert background music like in Presenter in Storyline?

Thank you

Hi everyone!

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 74, we've included important fixes and new features.

One of the new features we've included is:

  • Create immersive experiences with continuous background audio that sets the tone and keeps learners engaged.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you have questions!

Hi Mags,

Happy to help!

We're not seeing any reports of the background audio not playing in the published output for our other users, so the behavior might be isolated.

Have you tried adding an interaction to the start of your project file in order to give the browser permission to play the audio in your course? Modern browsers prevent audio from automatically playing until an interaction is detected, and one way around this is to add a 'START COURSE' button or similar to your course.

If interacting with your course doesn't work, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Hi Mags!

It sounds like you were having some issues with background audio not playing after publishing your Storyline 360 course. I'd be happy to help with that!

Testing it out on my end (Storyline 360 version 3.76.30446.0 in Windows Parallels on a Mac M1), the background audio I added to my course was playing both during preview and after publishing to Review 360. Everything was working as it should!

I just had some follow-up questions so I can understand what you are experiencing a little better:

  • Which version of Storyline 360 are you currently running?
  • Are you working locally? We recommend you Create, Edit, and Publish Courses on Your Local Hard Drive while authoring.
  • Does the lack of audio after publishing occur across all of the courses/audio files you use or is it specific to one file/audio track?

If you would be willing to share a copy of your project file here in the discussion or privately through a support case I'd be happy to take a closer look and test the behavior on my end. We'll delete it from our system once troubleshooting is complete!

Looking forward to hearing from you!
