Can Storyline report all selected answers in a multiple answer question to an LMS?

Jan 30, 2023

Trying to capture a learner's actual selections to a multiple answer quiz question. Will Storyline report all of the selected answers to an LMS, like it does with, say, a multiple choice answer?

Hello Michael,

Thanks for reaching out!

Yes, Storyline 360 is able to report all of the learner's selected answers to a multiple response question.

For your reference, here's all of the quiz data that Storyline 360 sends to an LMS.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Pardon my ignorance on this, but a couple of follow-ups:

1. Were s and f the actual answers, or do they represent 2 of the choices in a list? In other words if I have something like...

  • Red
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Yellow

Will the report show the actual answers, i.e., "red," "green," etc., or will the report show "1,2" or "A,B" where the numbers or letters are references to the choices that were selected?

2. Do I need to use SCORM 2004, or will this work with SCORM 1.2? If SCORM 2004, is there a particular edition (i.e., 2nd, 3rd, or 4th) that I should use?

Hi Michael,

Yes, the actual responses are also shown. In the first screenshot I shared, I used SCORM 1.2, and in the screenshot below, I used SCORM 2004 3rd Edition.

The responses will get tracked for both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004, but I would recommend using SCORM 2004 3rd or 4th Edition as these editions tend to display more complete information.

You can test how your course behaves in an LMS in SCORM Cloud if you're curious to see which information will be captured for reporting!
