Can the text of the markers be included in a published word export?

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to include the marker's text in a published word export?  

I work for a medical company and we conduct a dedicated approval process for all written content that we release for customers . So we need basically all text in a WBT displayed in a word export. We need to prove afterwards that all text in a document was reviewed and approved that way. So all written text needs to be displayed in the document.

However, when I publish a word export of a WBT, the text of the markers can only be read in the online version. It is not displayed in the word export. This is a huge issue for us, because we cannot prove afterwards that the text in the markers was not changed. 

The word export for translations is actually not a great help, because the WBT needs to be reviewed. Reviewers can review the training better if they see the slide images as well, and not only text. 

If you have any suggestions for a quick solution, please let me know.

Hi Birgit.

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes Community.

Unfortunately, the content in a Marker cannot be shown after publishing as a Word format. However, there are two workarounds that you can do:

  1. Transpose the marker content into the notes pane for the corresponding slide(s) by ticking the box in the publish dialog to include the notes as mentioned by Peter in this thread.
  2. Publish the project in LMS and have it reviewed.

I would recommend considering a feature request. This is something that many would appreciate seeing in a future release of Storyline. If you haven't already, please Request a product feature Storyline's development team.
