Closed Captioning Bug

Feb 26, 2018

There are two separate audio files on a slide, such as male then female. After closed captioning the two tracks, the initial display of the second track flashes up a latter CC of the second track before displaying the first CC of the second track.

Every time.

Any slide.

This forces us to take an additional step to export the two tracks, combine them into a single audio track, import the new track, adjust any minor timing irregularities, then closed caption the entire track.

This is a time waste.

I have one audio file or one video file with closed captioning on it. When I go back to a previous slide, the last closed caption I saw on the previous slide is showing on the current slide with the current closed captioning. This doesn't happen if the user goes through and doesn't revisit a slide, but as soon as a slide is revisited this duplication is happening. Please advise. The image attached shows three different slides closed captioning. What gives? The only CC that should be showing on this slide is the bottom caption. This would be terribly confusing and unacceptable for someone who NEEDS these closed captions.

Hi Stephanie,

It looks like you were running into an issue we just worked on.

We just released another update for Articulate 360 and included a few important fixes for Storyline 360 that you'll see in the release notes.
The issue you were running into where Closed Captions from multiple layers could display simultaneously and audio/video content that was duplicated on multiple slides with different captions resulted in the wrong captions being shown has been fixed.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.

Let me know if that does the trick or if you're running into a different issue, in which case I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
