cmi.interaction to LMS

Jul 23, 2020

Hi all,

I've read a few previous posts on this, but none are recent, and none really had a solution. I have a bunch of courses published for Tin Can, and I've just learned that the cmi.interaction statements ("answered") are not sending. Actually, they are sending for one course, but none of the others. I haven't done anything different from the course that is working to the ones that are not. I see the cmi.interaction designation in tincan.xml, but it's not reporting in the LMS. LMS team here thinks it's a Storyline issue. Has anyone seen this and been able to resolve? Or do I need to engage Articulate support?

Also to update, tested in SCORM Cloud and am not seeing these statements there, either.

Thank you!

Hi Lindsey. The only thing I can think of that could be causing this, is if the questions are not being processed by a results slide. I believe any question that you want reported to a cmi.interaction must be process by a results slide. Can you confirm this is the case in the one that is working and the others that are not working?

Hi Lindsey,

I'm happy to help you sort this, and a great call to test in SCORM Cloud

First, we have this resource on everything related to Tin Can API that may help:

Can I grab which version of Storyline you're using? Also, would you be willing to share the affected .story file with us through this link? We can check the xAPI LRS tab in SCORM Cloud on our end and let you know what we find!
