Content not highlighted in table, becomes highlighted in Preview

Jul 29, 2016

Hello,

We have been working on multilingual courses for quite some time now, but we never ran into this issue before.

The table for one of the languages (Hungarian) imports correctly, but in Preview or Publish mode when you hover or click on some of the text boxes they become highlighted.

We did not have this issue in the other languages, but the tables seem fine.

Lastly, for this same language and table, a sentence appears as black in the table and in Articulate but becomes white when you Preview the slide.

Thank you!

Leah

Hi Leah,

If you're only seeing the highlight while in preview or publish, I'd assume there may be some hyperlink associated with the text. It can happen when you're copying/pasting wording and text from another program as some formatting can remain. If you find that text within your file you can select it and then use the the right click "remove hyperlink" function to stop it from highlighting. You could also look at copying/pasting from a Notepad file as that doesn't allow formatting.

Storyline doesn't have support for native tables as detailed here. So depending on where and how you created the table it could be capturing the highlighting from that set up.

Hi Leah,

Its likely left over formatting from whoever translated the course or where content was copy/pasted from so it's hard to say exactly. You should be able to see the hyperlink in Preview as well as publish, so a good way to double check before publishing. You could also look at seeing if the "remove hyperlink" setting is there when you select text and right click, and that'll be an indicator that you need to remove some formatting. If you do need to copy/paste from another document, I recommend using notepad as it will strip out any odd formatting.
