Creating an animation path effect in Storyline?

Hi, Storyline Heroes:

So, I'm mourning motion paths. I have a word in one of my SL slides.

Let's call the word "AND." This word fades on, and then I want to transpose the letters of the previous word to form the word "DAN." Again, just keeping it simple here.

In PowerPoint, I'd just do an arch animation for each letter and be done. But with SL? In SL, I could achieve the transposing effect (sort of) by having the letters of the first word spin, then exit, and then having the letters of the second word fade in. This looks semi-pro. Thought a hero might have a better suggestion.

Hey Daniel

One easy workaround if you have PowerPoint 2010, is you can create the animation in PowerPoint, then do a Save and Send and choose to create a video and import that into Storyline. That, and other tips can be found in this older thread. Hope that helps!

Peter's Solution is ideal, but I thought I'd play around with a couple options for you. Hope they provide some inspiration.

Thanks for your ideas on this. Here's a link to a short demo that includes the effects I used. I believe the spin and grow text animation is on the last slide, "convert to freeform" tool. Again, thanks for the ideas. --Daniel

Hi ...

Could I create an animation in presenter or storeyline and bring into storeyline. I tried to do this with presnter swf and I think I may be doing something wrong.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi Elle!

Here's a list of the PowerPoint animations and slide transitions that Storyline supports. However, Storyline does not yet support motion paths, but here are a couple viable workarounds that may work for you.
