detecting empty text entry

the idea is to have a question slide with multiple text entry boxes.
User should get three different feed-backs:
- correct
- wrong
- forgot to answer (meaning text entry box remained empty).
Attached please find my solution so far.. it works in flash - but client requests HTML5 solution. in HTML5 both wrong and forgot to answer layers are visible for no obvious reason. I tried hiding the "wrong" layer - no luck.
any ideas will be appreciated

Show layer on condition that TextEntry variable is equal to blank when user clicks submit button
think I tried that already.. empty TextEntry triggers the "wrong layer" as textentry2 NOT EQUAL to answer2.
