Downloading content hosted on Google Drive

Aug 10, 2016

Hey everyone,

I am trying to download a course from Google Drive into Articulate Mobile Player but it is not working.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I just uploaded a work in progress e-learning course (designed using Storyline 2) to Google Drive. When I published the course, I made sure to check the box that would allow you to download the course to view offline. I have an Android phone (with Articulate Mobile Player already installed). I am trying to download the course into Articulate Mobile Player but it is not working. Wondered if there is anything I am doing wrong...or if it just isn't possible to download to Articulate Mobile Player from Google Drive.

Thank you.

Chris,

For this functionality to work through the Articulate Mobile Player (AMP) your course needs to be published for web and the appropriate checkboxes need to be selected.

After publishing you'll need to upload your published content to a web server. If you have a Google Drive account with a public sites folder then Google Drive should work, but this is a service that Google is doing away with and most newer accounts don't have this option available.

Once you have your published content on a web server, you'll need to link to your content via a http URL. When you hit this URL from your mobile device you'll have an option to download it for offline viewing in AMP if you selected that option during publishing.

Here's a little more info on offline viewing: https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-mobile-player/articles/downloading-content-for-offline-viewing

And how to distribute Storyline content - https://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/how-to-distribute-articulate-storyline-content-for-flash-html5-and-articulate-mobile-player-sl2

Hope this helps,

B
