Error message saving my file in Articulate 360

Oct 30, 2018

First I received an error that said "ParentContainerClosed", so I found a message on here that said to be sure I saved to my local C: drive. I've been saving to a network drive because I need it backed up each night.  When I try to save to my C: Drive I get a message that says cannot access a disposed object. Object name: 'StoryPackage'.

Hi there, Michele. Happy to help!

You're spot-on! Be sure to save and publish Storyline projects on a local hard drive first. Then, feel free to save additional copies as backup to a network drive.

A few questions and approaches:

  • Does this problem affect all .story project files or a particular one?
  • Could you let me know what happens when you click on the File tab and then Save As the project under a different file name?
    • If that doesn't help resolve the message, importing the slides into a new project might do the trick. Here's how!

Let us know how you make out!

Thank you for the information. I was able to recover my information, luckily I save several versions as changes are made.

These articles were very helpful.

Hello Katie,

I was able to fix my project by pulling a previous version and copying my new files there and resaving. So it wasn't affecting any other projects. I closed that particular one and deleted so I can't try the other requests.

Thank you for responding.
