Errors – Unable to Acquire LMS API & Failed Course Launch

Good Morning!

I’m posting to see if we can gain some insight on a couple errors our learners are getting when accessing Articulate Storyline courses on their phones. Our courses are published as LMS, SCORM 1.2 and hosted in Degreed. They’re accessing Degreed via an internal company app (not the Degreed app) and as a result the courses open in a browser window.


When accessing via mobile, the courses are opening seamlessly for some but others are getting the following errors. All courses work on desktop/laptop.

  1. Click on course in Degreed > allow pop up blocker to launch course > app closes (courses never launches)
  2. Click on course in Degreed > Gets error 1 attached > clicks ok > Gets error 2 attached (course never launches)

Does anyone have any insight here? Is it outdated flash? Should we be publishing as “Web”? Please let me know if I can clarify anything to help find a solution or explanation.

Do your learners experience an error when launching the course directly in a supported environment outside of your internal app?

  • Safari in Apple iOS/iPadOS (latest version)
  • Google Chrome (latest version) in Apple iOS/iPadOS (latest version)

Thank you for your response! I've taken your response and asked a couple users to download the preferred browser app, set to default, and try to open the same courses. Unfortunately we are in the same place as we were before. 

Do you have any other suggestions we can try?

Thank you for testing your project using a mobile browser, as Leslie suggested.

I'd like to rule out LMS issues by uploading the project to SCORM Cloud and testing it with iOS devices. Check out this step-by-step article!

If it works as expected in SCORM Cloud, I would advise you to reach out to Degreed for more information, as it can be an issue on their end.
