I can not figure out why this is not working - I've included a trigger to Exit the Course when the button is clicked on. When I preview it, it works fine. When I run it from our server, nothing happens when I click on the button to exit.
Would somebody be so kind as to take a look at this 3-slide .story file and tell me how to correct this?
I just tried running it using a different browser (IE instead of Chrome) and it worked. So, should I assume someone knows that there is a bug when using Exit Course with the Chrome browser?
Is there some way to test this to make sure it's not just me?!! haha - I'd appreciate it.

I have issue with Exit Course Trigger with storyline 3, whether I use a custom button with the exit course trigger it is not working on Chrome. How to solve this matter?
Hello, Tawfick. Thanks for letting us know what's going on. I'm happy to help!
First, let's check to be sure that you're on the latest update. Click the Help tab, then click About Storyline. You should see Update 6 in the bottom-right corner.
Let me know if you're already on the latest update, and we'll keep digging!
I'm having the same issue, the exit course trigger isn't working on a custom button (I'm using Storyline 3, with the December 2019 updates installed). I've tried this on various browsers and I' made sure the player settings have been set to launch a new window. I've tried this in our LMS (Moodle) and our institutional repository. Neither work
Please ignore my last message. The exit course trigger is working fine. I think the issue has been when I've been publishing it to our institutional repository - for whatever reason, when I viewed the course in this platform, and tried to exit it wouldn't respond. However, I emailed myself a direct link to the articulate course I developed, opened it, clicked on close course button and worked fine (was using chrome).
I am having the same issue. Imported a Rise 360 into our LMS (Canvas) and the Exit Course button does not work and direct the end user back to the LMS. I have opened a case but figured I would see if anyone knew anything helpful :)
Thanks for letting us know that you were able to contact our support team as well. I can see that Vevette is already working with you, so you're in good hands.
Same problem, the Exit Slide just won't show/ work in the LMS.
I'm creating urgent lessons for our organisations Covid response.
I've asked our IT Team to install Chrome as I can see that maybe a factor, I've tried publishing to a new window, didn't work. I've tried switching the menu on and off the Player. Nothing seems to help, I really need to nail down what the problem is, so that I can solve it.
I'm using Storyline3 with Explorer. I create lessons with standard Articulate Velocity templates on my C Drive linked to scenes of screen shots, Publish to C Drive and zip to desktop before uploading to LMS. I am really careful not to hit any of our network drives, as I know this would create problems.
Can you try uploading your published course to SCORM Cloud and see if that makes a difference? It could be a setting in your Learning Management System that needs to be adjusted.
Thanks Lauren, I couldn't use the SCORM Cloud because we don't subscribe but I think our LMS supplier has answered my question. I did not realise when you make courses from screen recordings and edit out some screens, the player by default still thinks that the total number of screens are in the lesson. Example import 10 screens edit out 5. When you publish the lesson unless you alter the Tracking to say 'Complete' after 5, the course will never Complete. Another thing that could trip you up is Branching because the User will not look at the screens in this scenario, so your lesson needs to account for that.
Anyone else with problems when courses don't end, look at the Reporting & Tracking features when you publish. It's not just about the Exit Trigger.
Has anyone been able to work out how to get Exit (exit course) to work for Firefox and/or Chrome?
I am using Storyline 360: When I add an exit course link to the Topbar of a presentation or as a trigger - the exit link works in Preview (i.e. closes the browser).
However, after publishing, when I click view project, the links do not work (i.e. clicking on Exit does not close the browser). I have attached a 'raw' example presentation.
NB: Exit seems to work OK in IE and Edge but not in Firefox or Chrome?
When we publish we set the Reporting & Tracking to Complete / Incomplete and ensure we know the minimum number of slides before the course can be completed. If you have used Branching you need to be aware that the learner will not be able to visit every slide.
This was our problem, hope it helps.

Thanks for the additional insight, Alison! By the way, it looks like you may have replied by email where your contact information came through. This Peek video will show you how to edit it out if you’d like!
I can't get my course to exit and send a complete message to our LMS. There is no test involved, just an exit button (last slide, button on the right).
Thanks for reaching out! It looks like you're tracking the course by slides viewed and have your reporting set as Passed/Incomplete. Have you tried other reporting methods such as Complete/Incomplete to see if that helps?
I also recommend using the Complete Course trigger you currently have disabled as another option!
If you still need help after these tips, feel free to connect with our support team, and they can lend a hand!
Thanks for the input. I tried several reporting sets. I only have Completed/Passed and Incomplete/Failed in my drop down screen and tried both. I added an extra exit trigger, but no. When publishing I also tried several sets for tracking and reporting, but to no avail. I still get Incomplete in SCORM Cloud no matter what I do. I just want the course to sync Complete to our LMS and not show Not attempted.
I see you have a case open with my teammate Georvy. I encourage you to reach out to Georvy for any questions you might have on the steps recommended.
I downloaded your .story file from your post above and enabled the course completion trigger on your last slide. I published it with the following tracking options:
When the learner has viewed 100% of All Slides
Using triggers
I was able to get a 100% Complete in SCORM Cloud with those settings.
Do you have the course completion trigger enabled in your current file?

Kristin, are you a Wait Wait don't tell me fan? It's a favorite show of mine.
This Articulate support page on Exiting a course will answer your question (Oh, No, I TOLD you!)
Yes - big fan of the show, too!

No worries, Greg. I'm glad that you were able to narrow it down further and I appreciate you popping in to share your findings.

Hi Alison!
I'd love to help! I tried to recreate this on my end and unfortunately, didn't have any issues using the Exit Course trigger.
I tested the course in Firefox, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer. You can find my testing here.

Hi Bonita,
You may want to take a look at this article that may help troubleshoot your exit course trigger:

Hello Maria,
Ow great! Could you send me the file so I can see what you did and what I have done wrong?
Regards Dré
Hi, Dre.
The file is attached here. All I did was enable the trigger you had disabled in your last slide:
Let me know if it works!
Please can someone remove me from these emails.
