In order to better assist with what you're looking to do, I'd like a little more information about what's happening. Is there a particular step that you're getting hung up on? When you say the advice didn't work, what are you seeing that's not functioning properly? Would you be able to share your .story file here so we can take a closer look? Do you have a sample of what you've got set up so far? It's often easier to help troubleshoot these types of things by being able to look at your .story file and make modifications from there. You can attach it using the "add attachment" button at the bottom of the reply window when visiting this forum discussion.
As Jeanette says, "On your custom Submit button, you'll want the 'Submit interaction' trigger to come after the other triggers which change the state of the correct/incorrect buttons (the ones that are off-screen)."
It doesn't look like your triggers are in the right order. When I changed the order so that the "Submit interaction Pick One" trigger was last, it worked for me. Does that work for you?
Sorry if I missed your file in my first read through, or perhaps you uploaded it after the fact. Taking a look at your file and Giovanna's answers - I'd agree that this one is all about trigger order. You can see the information in terms of how triggers are executed here.
I tried to make the "Submit Interaction Pick One" trigger last by adding a new one below the "Change State of Button 2," then deleting the old "Submit Interaction Pick One" trigger. Couldn't delete the old one, though.
Hi Nigel! You can move triggers up or down by selecting the trigger and using the arrows at the top of the trigger panel. Check out the GIF below for reference:
