If videos are embeded, the uploaded course fails to work.

Feb 28, 2022

Hi there! I am a newbie, and I come across a problem that is driving me mad. I published the course as Scorm1.2, and it just doesn't show up on the client's system. But if all the videos are deleted, it works fine. I have made a test, a course that has a single page that included a video also failed. I have asked many people for advice, and it's said that I need to do something with the output .html5 file. But I have no idea what to do. Anyone could help? Thank you so much! Btw, I am not allowed to share the course.

Hi, Hunzi, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨

Thank you for reaching out!

I have a few questions to narrow down the issue:

  • When you say "it just doesn't show up on the client's system", what do you mean? When they upload to the LMS, is the course blank?
  • "I have made a test, a course that has a single page that included a video also failed" - did the same happen as above, or did you receive an error when publishing?

My first recommendation would be to test your course with SCORM Cloud to rule out LMS issues. Check out this step-by-step article

If it works as expected in SCORM Cloud, I would advise you to reach out to your client's LMS for more information, as it can be an issue on their end.

Hi Maria, thank you so much for your reply! I have tested the course with SCORM Cloud and it worked well.

There is more information about this issue now.  The failed SCORM was published by Storyline 360. I did another test, SCORM published by Storyline 3 with HTML5/Flash worked well.  So I presume the client's system doesn't support HTML5 and am trying to publish the course with HTML5/Flash.

How could I get a previous version of Storyline 360 which includes the HTML5/Flash option, since my course can't be opened by Storyline 3?
