Hello - I am trying to import a Powerpoint w/audio into Storyline 2. I insert the Powerpoint successfully with the audio. However, the audio does not attach once I have selected and imported the slides to create a new scene.
I just tested a one slide ppt with audio attached and it imported fine into SL2. Do you want to share the ppt slide with the audio for someone to take a look?
Are they M4A audio files? If you import a PowerPoint presentation with M4A audio files into Articulate Storyline, you may find that the audio files don't get imported.
This is a known issue. Storyline supports M4A files, but they're not currently importing from PowerPoint. You can work around this behavior by importing the M4A audio files into Storyline after importing your PowerPoint presentation.
If you don't have backup copies of the M4A audio files in your PowerPoint presentation, you may be able to extract them from the PowerPoint file as described here.
Where does this stand? We need to import audio with our PowerPoints to Storyline2. Now it is not working again. We can import the individual sound files but this adds lots of time to the production.
The link provide for downloading a 7-zip utility for extracting PowerPoint audio is not working. Do you have another option for obtaining the utility? Do you have another option for importing ppt audio directly to storyline2. The usual method is not working.
This issue has been my only shortcoming with Storyline. This gets a bit tedious importing one by one but having the ability for users to record within Powerpoint is my only reasonable option - they're not purchasing Storyline. It's a nice feature for my clinical faculty to record in Powerpoint - everyone has it, but importing these back in individually to the storyline files - ohh vay! lol
This is definitely at the top of my requested future features.
On an additional note -- Unfortunately the audio files number sequentially so if there's a slide or two without audio in a long presentation you have to be careful to match them up when importing one by one.
Replying to thread hoping a solution will be available soon! Extracting audio from PowerPoint presentations and importing one slide at a time in Storyline 2 is not fun!
I didn't have any difficulty importing this file and the audio is with it. I'd advise that you try again in a new file and if you continue to have difficulty, you may want to repair your Storyline installation.
Okay. I forgot to say that I'm working on a trial version. I know Articulate says that the trial versions are the same as the purchased versions, but do you think this could have something to do with it?
Hello all, I just imported my PPT with audio into Storyline 2 and no luck. It did not work. I can tell you that we recorded the audio directly into PPT. Please advise.
Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue - were they M4A audio files? If so, you may find that importing a PowerPoint presentation with M4A audio files into Articulate Storyline, the audio files don't get imported.

Hi Janet,
This is still a known issue as documented here. I don't have any updates to share at this time.

Hi Monique!
You can find the 7 zip utility here. Looks like it may be due to the https vs http.
The link that Ashley shared above is the method we are recommending.

What about MP3 files? I just uploaded a PPT with audio (no video), and the audio did not come along. Help?
Hi Lerissa!
Did you follow the instructions here on importing your slides from Powerpoint?
Is the audio background/playlist audio? This will not be imported as you can see here.
Hi Leslie - Yes, that's the way I did it.
The audio is voice-over narration.
Would you be able to share your ppt file so that I could try to import?
Sure. Give me a minute ...
Here it is ...
Thanks Lerissa!

Not at all - it is the same short of having a license number plugged in :)
Okay! Thanks.
