Since updating my Storyline a week or so ago, myself and a colleague are having an issue where our courses published today don't launch full-screen. Tested a course published previously and it launches full screen so it can't be the LMS.
Also, even though for mobile/iPad it is locked to Landscape only, it can still be viewed in Portrait.
Thanks for bringing this up, and I'd like to test it in a new Storyline 360 file. Can you confirm that you used these settings to "launch fullscreen" in your LMS? Thanks!
Yes, browser size and player size are as shown in your screenshot. We have never ticked the Launch Player option in either Storyline 2 or 360 as that is handled in the LMS itself.
I just tried it again and the same is happening for both the size of the screen and showing portrait through the LMS app on mobile when the settings say Landscape only.
Are you using an LMS specific app on your mobile device? If so, that could be overriding the Storyline settings. To test it, I'd suggest uploading your course to SCORM Cloud and then using one of the supported iOS browsers mentioned here.
This one worked for me ... however my ones are not. Still not launching full screen, and also I noticed that the font is ALWAYS in bold. This used to only happen in Preview mode but the published was ok. Now, though, the published is in bold. This is all since the recent update a few weeks ago.
I am stumped on what to do here. I have tried publishing a few older courses that used to be ok (not bold, launch fullscreen, mobile landscape only) as a test, and they are also showing the same issues.
Can you share one of the .story files that you're seeing this happen with? You can include it in a comment using the Add Attachment feature like this:
I'm going to break down these issues into numbers to make this a little easier to follow as I'll need a little more info for each:
Not launching full screen: - What browsers are you seeing this happen in?
Font always bold: - Are you viewing the HTML5 output or the Flash output when this is happening? - What font are you using?
Course not restricted to Landscape mode: - You mentioned that this is happening in the Successfactors app. Just to verify- when you tested your course out in SCORM Cloud, did you see the same thing happen on iPad and iPhone? Third party apps aren't supported for viewing courses on mobile, so I'd be curious to know if the same issue is present when testing outside that app.
Also, are you running the very latest version of Storyline 360- version 3.9.13510.0? You can check by going to Help > About Storyline like this:
A quick response: am waiting for our IT department to upgrade to the current version (currently on 3.8.13281.0) but I have discovered that all of these happen when I publish with the format HTML5 with Flash fallback
If I publish as Flash with HTML5 fallback then everything is perfect ... except that leaners can't use that on IE11 (only Chrome).
Will wait for the upgrade for Storyline and then update you on each point, hopefully this will fix it. Fingers and toes crossed :)
Hi did you ever resolve this issue? We noticed that this is happening to our courses when we publish to HTML5 and Flash is not an option for us. For us, the first time you view a course it shows up full screen, but if you revisit it, you will see the browser address bar and the course does not take up the full screen. We were told that it was an android issue and are awaiting a resolution for this as we lose a lot of screen real estate this way which is frustrating.
Really sorry this is causing you headaches. We're working through an issue where a course will display smaller and show the browser URL address bar on revisit in Chrome on Android phones.
We'll be sure to let you know as soon as this is fixed. You're in the right place to stay up to date on this bug's progress!
We have an issue with Storyline content not scaling into the available screen space when viewing content in the "landscape" mode on a phone via the Successfactors mobile app.
Would like to check if issue being discussed in this thread is the same or connected in any way. And if this is something that can be fixed?
Hey folks. I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 25 for Storyline 360! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.
One of the fixes addresses an issue where a course could shrink when resumed on an Android phone because the browser chrome was showing.
Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. Let me know how you make out!
If you're running into the issue described here where an Android phone showed browser chrome, that was fixed in a recent update to Storyline 360 as Alyssa noted. You'll want to update to the latest version, and we're not on Storyline 360, build 3.27.18822.0.

I tried Scorm Cloud, and no go. Didn't open full screen.
Of the approx 100 courses we have, they all work as expected:
It is only the two published earlier in the week that behave in this manner.
Hi Michael,
I created a Storyline 360 sample file and hosted it on SCORM Cloud. Please test this link, and you should see:
Let me know how your testing goes!

Hi,

We have also been in touch with SAP SF regarding this: see here: https://community.successfactors.com/t5/Mobile-Forum/Proper-content-size-for-SF-Mobile-App/m-p/203054#M891
Landscape mode: it is hard to move content up and down without accidentally stopping the content playing or moving to next screen.
Portrait: no issue here.
Any help is appreciated.

I am having this same exact issue! I don't see any responses to your questions in this thread. Has this been resolved?
Hi Jesse,
I answered your other post here.

Hey Team, this issue has since been resolved.
Storyline is not the root cause of this issue.
Root Cause = SAP Success Factors + Internal IT
*There should be a "fullscreen" video button located on the top right, allowing you to full screen your content and remove the top bar.
Thanks, Jesse for that update! Glad your SAP team was able to help figure this out.
