July 7 '20 update LMS time out fix - do projects need to be republished?

Jul 14, 2020

In the release notes for the July 7, 2020 (Build 3.41.22509.0) update, it says:  Fixed: The FORCED_COMMIT_TIME variable in the scormdriver.js file defaulted to a value of 0 in the previous update, preventing courses from sending "keep alive" messages to an LMS to keep learners' sessions from timing out. This update restores the default value of 60000, which sends a "keep alive" message to the LMS every 60 seconds.

Does this then require that Storyline projects published for LMS/SCORM need to be republished to apply this fix?

Hi L.A.,

That's correct! Anytime there's a fix for a specific bug in Storyline 360, you'll need to update to that version that contains the fix, and re-publish your course to address the bug you're running into.

To update your version, just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
