Lightbox tabs with LMS tracking

Jun 27, 2014

Sorry if this has been asked/addressed before in the forums. I had a hard time figuring out how to word this one in the search bar. So here it goes!

I'm working on a project that currently needs to be tracked by number of slides viewed since there is no final assessment/results screen. In the player, I have a tab that opens a lightbox with an optional "how to navigate screen," which is located in a hidden scene within the course. Since this screen isn't required to be viewed by the user, is there anyway I can omit the screen from the number of slides needed to be viewed to mark as complete?

For example, if the course has 10 slides, which includes the optional screen, if I have it set to 10, it won't mark as complete if they don't view the optional screen. If I set the course to 9 and the user chooses to view the optional screen, it will mark as complete prior to them viewing all of the required content.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good Afternoon, Pete.

There's no specific functionality built into Storyline to make this happen, but here are a few community solutions that might get your creative juices flowing!

  • Mark Completion Upon Reaching the Last Slide:

  • Mark Completion Upon Reaching a Specific Slide:

  • Track Which Slides Have Been Viewed Rather Than How Many:

Good luck with your project!
