After 3 hours of work, and saving periodically, I opened my storyline 3 file the next day and it was all gone. I've searched high and low. What I did discover was that the file I was working on was a template and not a story file (not sure how that happened). Would that have anything to do with it???
I'm really sorry you've lost 3 hours of work! It's an awful position to be in, made only more frustrating by how tricky it is to track down the cause of the problem.
When you opened the Storyline template file and realized your work was missing, did you see a Storyline error message?
Also, is the file saved to your local hard drive or a network drive?

I'm not sure but have you tried importing the template in to a new Storyline file to see if you can retrieve your data that way?
Yes, tried that. Was keeping my fingers crossed but no go.
