Object in base layer showing in other layers when hidden

Jun 27, 2012

Hi,

I'm new to storyline (as most are) and I'm reworking an existing FAQ interaction. On all slide layers other than the base layer, I want certain things to show and certain objects not to show. I am hiding (closing the eye) of the things I don't want shown from the base layer on the other three layers. It's working for most objects but the animated group is still showing.  What do I do?

Thanks!!

Jordyn

Thanks for popping back in to share how you're working around this in the meantime Doug.

Hi Ashish. I'm seeing that objects that are set to appear on the base layer timeline after the layer is triggered are appearing even though I hid them using the "eye" icon on the slide layer.

Here are two workarounds in the Slide Layer Properties window:

  • Hide objects on the base layer (if you don't want any of the base layer objects to show)
  • Pause timeline of the base layer (any objects set to show on the timeline after the layer is triggered won't show. And you can use the "eye" icon to selectively hide objects already visible on the base layer.

Let me know how those options work!
