Offsetting subtitles for courses with a breadcrumb

Feb 11, 2022

Hiya,

Is it possible to offset subtitles that have been added to the video, so they do not cover the breadcrumb that we have across a series of modules?

How to move the subtitle up higher, so it does not cover the breadcrumb

It would be awesome if it was possible to lower align them (so subsequent lines expand upwards) and set a maximum y-value somehow.

Hello Asbjørn!

Thanks for sharing this with us! As of right now, there isn't a way to change the placement of the closed captions. We've heard others share how important this feature would be for them, so we do have an active feature request that I've linked this conversation to. It's not currently being worked on, so I don't have a timeline to share, but I'll make sure to share it in this discussion when we have an update.

I'm looking forward to hearing if other community members have configured a workaround for this!

Hi Asbjørn,

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 86, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the new features we’ve included:

  • Position captions at the top or bottom of the slide to ensure closed caption visibility and prevent the obstruction of critical course content.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
