Print button does not work

Jan 14, 2015

Hello,

I work on Storyline 2, after one year with Storyline. I have an issue with the "print Result" option, at the end of the evaluation

I'd like to be able to enter my name and have a paper version of the assessment done.

I tried to publish my file, when I launch the story.html file, I can see without any issue the file. When I finished the evaluation, I click the button "Print Results" which has adequate trigger, a new IE window appears, but nothing happened...

This Printing option is crucial for me and my developers, if you have any idea...

I'm using Storyline 1 and have the exact same problem.  Any stories published before installing Update 6 work fine.  Any published after Update 6 - the "Print Results" button doesn't work.  A co-worker didn't install updates and is still using Update 3.  It will work for her.  But mine won't.  We are both publishing to the exact same version of IE8. So I don't think that the browser is the problem.  I've been emailing with Articulate Tech Support for over a week and they can't figure out what the problem is either.  If anyone figures this out PLEASE let me know.

Hello,

I tried within SCORM Cloud and it works fine

I tried within IE, a new sheet appears, called results.html, completely empty.

I tried within Chrome, a pop-up appears : "The print results feature on this slide has been disabled while viewing locally because your browser does not support it"...

I used a specific LMS, with Tincan, and I fear it won't work: I really don't know what to do...modifications inside IE settings?

Hi Olivier,

So SCORM Cloud worked when you uploaded the Tin Can output - regardless of the browser you tested it in? If so, that's information that you can share with your LMS team as you continue to investigate the behavior with them.

As for IE and the Chrome message you shared, the latter sounds as if the file was not being tested in the publish environment but that it was tested locally? If so, that could be why you're encountering the issue as testing it locally is known to cause errors and issues running into security issues.  Also you may want to look at what version of IE you're using, as although Storyline is supported with older versions it may not behave as well and you could also confirm which versions your LMS supports.

As for specific IE settings, I would suggest looking at elements such as the pop up blocking and other security settings within IE.

Hello

I checked with one my colleagues in Germany, with 2 files created : one created by me, one created by my colleague

We check together, we have exactly same options and we publish on the same way also

When we tried to get result slide, for both files, it did not work on my computer (I have a result.html appearing, but completely blank), but it works on his computer (with IE only, not with Chrome)

We both have IE 11, I have update 10 for SL2...

I saw on several discussion on the forum that it could be related to IE settings. Could you help me by telling me which parameters I should check in detail? Pop-up? which security setting?

Regards

Olivier

Hi Olivier,

Sorry to hear you're still struggling with the print behavior. Have you looked at testing in other browsers? Are you both uploading the file to your server or LMS, or testing the content locally? Could the site you're hosting on also be contributing to the blocked pop up? What about testing it at SCORM Cloud or upload to Tempshare?
