Problems Publishing Courses for LMS

Hi,

I'm currently experiencing difficulties when publishing courses for LMS (Totara 2.4) in that once they have been published and uploaded into the system they don't appear to be recording the user as successfully completing the course.

I've already checked with our LMS Administrator to see if there are any differences between my course and theirs but apart from my course being created using Storyline and theirs with Presenter '09 all settings appear to be the same so I was wondering if there were specific options (instead of the defaults) that I should be selecting in the reporting and/or tracking options prior to publishing ?

Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated ?

Good Afternoon Stephen, and welcome to Heroes!

One of the most useful steps to help isolate whether the problem is with your Storyline content (or is specific to your LMS) is to test your content within a free account at SCORM Cloud, which is an industry-standard tool for testing SCORM output.

  • If the content completes as expected within SCORM Cloud, you have an LMS-specific issue, and enabling LMS Debug Mode will produce logs that you can share with your LMS Administrator to see where the error in communication is occurring.
  • If the content doesn't complete at SCORM Cloud either, then you have a problem with your Storyline output, and we'd be happy to take a closer look at your .story project file to see what might be going wrong.
