Problems with opening the course in Chrome

Nov 21, 2016

In 3 years of using the program, it is the first time that I have problems when trying to open the E-learning in Chrome. I already updated the Flash Player plugin and changed the file name several times. I even try to open others that I could before without problems and now it does not work, it seems like it stays as loading. In Explorer and in Firefox does not present those problems. Please help

Hey there!

Thanks for letting us know! I have a few questions to help narrow this down:

  1. What problems are you seeing in Chrome through Moodle?
  2. Have you tried troubleshooting your courses in SCORM Cloud? That'll give us a great idea of whether or not this is LMS specific.

Let me know if you see the same issues happen in SCORM Cloud.

You're also more than welcome to share one of your .story project files you're having trouble with here. I'm happy to do some testing! You can add it as an attachment right to a comment in this thread.

Keep me posted!

Hi!

Thanks for your answer; here I give you more information:

1.      We have two kind of problems:

a.      When we finish a course, after we’ve done the final test and we arrive to the results screen (with a grade in %), we close the window, and when we reopen it, the result is 0%, instead of the one we’ve achieved on our last session. So, it seems that we’ve not done the test.

b.      In another course, the content doesn’t display correctly, there are sections that don’t work well, when you click on them they don’t open properly, and it also doesn’t save the last “state” we’ve reached when we close the course and reopen it.

2.      We haven’t tried SCORM Cloud because our Moodle is prepared to support many different kinds of SCORM, and usually it works well with anything. In this case, it give us problems only when we use Chrome, it works perfectly with IE and Firefox.

We’ve already submitted a support case regarding the first one (a) and one of your colleagues is helping us, but we have not done it for the second case (b). So, here I attach a .story with an example of it. As you would see, in the second slide there are a lot of icons which you need to click to see the content. The first four icons work ok, from the fifth one it doesn’t work (I attach an image).

Thanks in advance,

Nuria

Hey Nuria!

Thanks so much for those details and for sharing your file with me!

I see you're working with my colleague Wilbert on problem A so I'll be sure to keep an eye on that case.

As for problem B, I published your course and uploaded it to SCORM Cloud as a comparison. Everything seems to work as designed on that second slide, I'm able to click through all the icons.

Take a look at it here and let me know if I've misunderstood at all!

Thanks for letting me know that, Nuria.

I looked at your course again, and I do see what you're describing now in the latest Chrome on my Mac. Oddly enough, I don't see it happen in the latest Chrome in Windows 10.

I'm having our Support Engineers reach out to you directly to investigate this issue further. Keep an eye out for support@articulate.com in your inbox!

I'll be following along with it as well, and our Engineers will also continue working with you on the other issue too.

Thanks again for letting us know about this, and I'm sorry it's causing some headaches!

Hi Simon,

Thanks for checking in, I know that our support team was in touch with eContent to work through a few of the issues mentioned, and at least one was reported to our team (Score resets on resume if Question Bank is set as “When revisiting: Resume initial state”) as a possible software bug and that is still open.

If you were looking for help on another issue mentioned here, let me know and I can dig deeper into that!
