Progress Meter when using Qustion Bank

Jun 09, 2014

Morning all

I am at the moment creating a Module that has a final test that  includes 20 questions drawn from Question Bank. Feedback recieved during testing indicates users would like to see some form of progress ie Question 10 of 20. Question 11 of 20 etc as they progress.  Not how they are going simply how many questions left to go.

Is there any way when using Draw From Bank to set some form of progress.

The only way I can see at the moment is to set Include in Shuffle as Always and then numbering the slides in this way.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Peter,

Set two variables eg. questNumber (set to 0) and questTotal(set to 20)

On every slide in a question bank  add: %questNumber% of %questTotal%. Add a trigger to the next button on every slide: Add  1 to questNumber when user clicks.

Then add on the slide before your assessment a trigger to the next button (or if you don't have one add it as a slide trigger) set questNumber = 1(when user clicks/or timeline ends) and that's it, should work

cheers,

Joanna

Hi Peter and welcome to Heroes!

In addition to Joanna's suggestion (although you wouldn't need a variable for Question Total - as it'll always be 20, correct?) you may want to look at some of the custom progress bars here if you're looking to add a bit more visual cue to your learner. Here's also another thread with an example you can take a look at.
