Projects becoming corrupt very frequently

I have had this issue in the past, and had to entirely re-create a course in Storyline after the file mysteriously became corrupted. After that I have been rigorously backing up my .story files, but this has happened three more times since it happened the first time.
I'm starting to feel like there could be a bug or something wrong with my Storyline installation. It's incredibly frustrating to not know if my files will be intact tomorrow or the next day. I have clients that expect finished courses this month, and setbacks like this are becoming really tiring. Does anyone have any advice?
I have tried the following:
-I am working from a local hard drive, not a USB or network drive.
-I have followed the steps outlined in this thread: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/storyline-file-corrupt-and-will-not-open

Hi Robert. I'm really sorry that this problem has been haunting you for awhile.
Would you be willing to work one-on-one with our support engineers to see if we can find the cause and figure out a workflow that protects your files?
