Published course not loading properly

Jul 12, 2021

Hi!

I just had to make updates to over 20 courses using Storyline and then had to replace the contents in our LMS (SABA). Out of the new courses, I continue to receive the following error on three courses when previewing the content in the LMS "Please select a lesson from the table of contents to continue." I have rebuilt each of them from scratch and still get that message. I am driving myself nuts trying to figure this out!! Please help!

Hello Ashley, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ⭐️

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this, and it sounds like you've been through a lot so far!

Have you tried testing the courses in SCORM Cloud to see if you get different results? If you're comfortable sharing your file, I'd be happy to test for you, or you can connect privately to one of our support engineers here, and they can help troubleshoot!

I'm staying tuned for your response so we can keep looking into this!

When you update a course on SABA, does it overwrite the current content or version it? Some LMS' I have worked with version the current files with the new ones, but do NOT migrate learners who have already started the course to the updated course. In those cases, an unenrollment/reenrollment may be enough to get you into the most-current version, or you may have to start over from scratch.

Other LMS overwrite the existing content with the new content. That way, all learners are accessing the same file at launch. The downside is, if you started but did not complete the course, you may have to start over, especially if the updated course file is significantly changed from the file it replaces.

SCORM Cloud allows you to do either, with the caveat that IF you are overwriting a course and there are existing course starts, those learners will have to start over from the beginning.
