Radial and rectangular background error

Apr 18, 2017

There are light-colored lines on the left and top sides of the player when using radial or rectangular filled backgrounds (visible when choosing a dark theme and a dark background). These appear both in the preview and published content.

This applies to SL3. In SL2 there was a similar problem, but only with the left top pixel. In SL3 this has extended to the entire left and top sides.

See screenshot below for an example. This is a new, empty project. All I've done is change to a dark theme and the background to the built-in style 12.

It can be "fixed" by inserting dark lines in the slide master, but that's merely a hack.

Hi Tom,

I can see how those lines would be annoying and distract from the overall slide presentation.

It does look like it's recently been reported to my team as a possible software bug. I'll include the discussion here in that report.

So from here, I’ll meet with my team to take a closer look so we can determine next steps. Sometimes my team catches errors in my logic and we don’t have a bug after all. Of course, if that’s the case, I’ll let you know!

Depending on priority and risk, some bugs can be fixed quickly, while others take longer to resolve. Here's more information on how we identify and tackle bugs.

I’ll let you know as soon as we have an update on this issue. Thanks so much again for letting us know about this, and I’m sorry if it’s slowing you down.
