Resume option is not working in Success Factors LMS

Nov 25, 2019

Hi,

We have created scorm file in Storyline 360 with 2004 4th Edition, we have given the prompt to resume option.

This course contains total 90 slides, there is issue of stopping the course at Slide 51 and resuming the course after closing the window. The course goes back to slide 7.  Whenever we relaunch the course it chooses random slide to resume the course. In some slides we have used hyperlinks to open the files in new window. When we close the pop up window the entire browser tabs gets closed and after resuming, instead of showing the same slide it is moving to other slide.

We discussed with LMS team but could not troubleshoot this.

Requesting you to check and help us on this.

Hii Katie,

Actually I tested the scorm package in internal LMS and SCORM CLOUD and it is working fine from our end. But our clients are checking the package in Success Factors LMS in both the browsers IE and Chrome. In some time they are facing that issue in Success Factors LMS.

Hi Krishna,

Thanks for sharing that additional information! If it's working well in your internal LMS and SCORM Cloud, it looks like the issue may be with Success Factors. It may be a good idea to follow up with them on the publishing/reporting options to ensure you're selecting the right choices.

If you're still running into issues afterward, connect with a support engineer, and we'll try to help troubleshoot your file from our end!

Hi Frank,

A few other tips to try are shared in this article below if you're running into suspend data issues.

Storyline: Exceeding SCORM Suspend Data Limits

  • Reduce the number of slides until the resume feature works as expected. The limit will vary, depending on a variety of factors. You'll need to test your content in your LMS to verify.
  • Disable the resume feature in Storyline.
  • Republish your course for SCORM 2004 3rd Edition or 4th Edition, both of which support much longer suspend data.

You can also try testing the course in a different environment, such as SCORM Cloud, as the issue may be specific to Success Factors and worth reaching out to them to share any helpful insight!

Hello Santhosh, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with your published project.

Can you share the troubleshooting that you've done so far? Specifically, republishing your course for SCORM 2004 3rd Edition or 4th Edition, both of which support much longer suspend data.
